Sherry Ann Ward passed away at home in Ormond Beach, Florida, on Sunday, February 8th, 2026. She was born in Russell, Kansas  on October 10, 1940 to Andy and Ruby Chrisbens. She grew up in Salina, Kansas, and attended Salina High School, where she met the love of her life Gary Ward, and married him in 1958. They moved to Ormond Beach in 1986, along with family and family business, The Ward Company.

She never forgot her roots in the Great Plains, but had  transplanted well enough to Southern soil to enjoy a meal of oxtails over rice with corn.

She was a devoted wife, an avid bridge player, and an awesome Mom to her three sons, our spouses, and more dogs and cats than we can tally. Her bird feeders were always full. She loved her Tymber Creek community, and served on the HOA board for many years.  She was always happy to host bike parking for neighborhood kids using the school bus stop in front of her home.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Chrisbens, Salina, Kansas, Sons Mike and son-in-law Richard Pietrofeso, San Diego, California,Greg, daughter-in-law Laura Martincic Ward, son-in-law William Daniels,and grandson Zack Martincic, Ormond Beach, Florida.

The family suggests memorial donations to Halifax Humane Society.
